On the Elsie course and the amazing women who make it what it is…

"When I reflect on the journeys of the women who join the Elsie course, it’s the messages that stay with me — especially the ones that begin with, “I’m not sure I’ll be able to do it…”

I always say: keep an open mind.

So many of us were told somewhere along the way that we “weren’t creative” or “not very arty.” And yet — time and time again — I watch something shift.

There’s a moment when confidence starts to bloom.

They begin to speak about their makes with joy. They send photos, proud of what they’ve created. They try things they never thought possible… and then go on to create their own beautiful designs.

That part — the after Elsie — is so special to me. I absolutely love seeing each individual Elsie come to life, but it’s what happens next that really stays with me.

And I have to say — the women in our Elsie community are truly beautiful human beings.

They cheer each other on. They share generously. They lift one another up.

So many say, “It feels like a family.”

And I agree — creativity can be lonely, but here, it doesn’t have to be.

Elsie nearly didn’t make it into the world — I was nervous to share her. But I’m so glad I did. I wouldn’t have met these amazing women otherwise.

So if you’re reading this and thinking, “That sounds like my kind of space,”
